Today we helped out Creating Adventures to raise awareness about their charity and to help create a better understanding of what they do. Our marketing manager Negin Interviewed Jenny, the founder of Creating Adventures, to find out more about the charity, their aims for the future, and what can be done to help. You can read the full interview here.

Creating Adventures’ aim is to bring laughter, stimulation and enrichment to the lives of 18 + adults with Autism and additional needs. For those, they help age is merely a number and they still want to enjoy many of the activities they loved as a child. Unfortunately, many of these activities are not available to them as adults or are stigmatised by society as socially unacceptable for them. Creating Adventures is about breaking down these perceptions and barriers that exist in the community so those they help have access to the activities they want to enjoy. They are currently able to achieve this through music, art, horticulture and sport.

Some of the Projects they have run this year include;

  • Music & Songwriting Project in Trafford. 50 adults joined the project and left with a copy of their own song. For those with communication difficulties music can help them to express their needs and frustrations and also help them to cope with anxiety.
  • Sports Festival and Coaching Project which they organised with the support of Warrington Wolves foundation to deliver taster session of rugby, football, tennis, Boccia, Wheelchair sports and athletics.
  • Creating Art for Expression which was for adults over 50 years old with Autism and additional needs in Warrington. The adults created pieces worthy of an exhibition, with some of the work created being exhibited at the Orford Jubilee Hub Library in Warrington.

Our hope is that our interview will raise awareness for the brilliant charity local charity and help them to have an even more successful 2020. If you would like to learn more about Creating Adventures you can visit their website here.
