Great British Energy’s New Logo – Mosaic’s Thoughts

At Mosaic Digital Media, we always keep a keen eye on creative trends and designs that spark conversations.

That’s why we sat down with our own Head of Creative, Nathan, to get his take on the recently unveiled logo for Great British Energy, part of a new Labour government initiative for a public energy scheme in England.

Nathan didn’t mince words about the new design.

“When I saw that they opted for a stock image for such a major scheme, it really made me wonder about the level of commitment there,” he shared.

“It suggests a lack of seriousness about the initiative. If there’s a minimal investment in promoting such a significant scheme, it raises questions about the belief behind it.”

Nathan pointed out another detail that didn’t sit right with him.

“There’s really an ironic twist in the choice of logomark, isn’t there?” he asked rhetorically before elaborating.

“Using a screw bulb rather than a British bayonet bulb. It’s funny, considering all the talk about protecting our national identity.”

Despite the criticism, Nathan’s final remarks suggest optimism.

“The design might be simple and uninspired, but on the brighter side,” he stated with a slight smirk.

“If they’re saving money on the design front, hopefully, it means they’re going to use that money to make a real difference where it matters.”

While the new logo for Great British Energy might not have hit the mark, we’re excited to see how the initiative unfolds and impacts the community.
