Google Set to Fund Development of Nuclear Reactors

Just recently, as we at Mosaic keep up to date in the wider digital marketing world of online trends, we’ve seen two major businesses emerge with expensive developments.

Tesco itself has signed a new deal to procure solar power from the planned Cleve Hill solar farm in Kent. Which is set to be one of the biggest UK solar farms developed.

Despite its relatively reserved presence in Tesco’s digital marketing plan. This major deal continues the supermarket chain’s push to have its stores powered by clean energy sources by 2035.

Now, in the case of Google the level of investment goes even further. As part of its efforts to power its AI projects, which you’ve undoubtedly heard of if you’ve engaged with their digital marketing for the last several years, Google plans to fund the development of 6 to 7 nuclear reactors.

The aim being to secure the high energy costs of their AI technology. Using a power solution that remains true to their carbon neutral efforts.

Funding New Power Sources to Drive AI Aims

Yes, as you may note, it seems that the tech giant is making huge strides towards building an entirely new structure within itself. Given that this would not only mean a high cost given the expensive nature of such reactors but also, that Google would have its own dedicated power infrastructure for its purposes.

In the course of our previous update we made mention of a prevailing trend. Businesses securing their own power sources. A trend that would see people such as yourself ideally mounting your own solar panels to cover the energy needs of your business.

A real turn from the traditional usage of centralised grid power. However, that isn’t to say that your local corner store will be building power plants in their back gardens. Rather, it’s about the democratisation of energy for business. The growing availability of technology allows businesses to eliminate energy reliance on the grid and the natural costs that come with it.

Not to mention, this indicates Google’s commitment to expanding its AI efforts. Fuelling an ongoing shift in the industry and amongst the online digital marketing world.
