Reverse Advent Calendar Day 12

To conclude our reverse advent calendar, our last (but by no means least) act of charity is to provide our social media marketing expertise to a very worthy local charity – St Luke’s hospice.

We have previously supported St Luke’s in their ‘bring a pound to work day’ campaign, and this time are turning our efforts in assisting them with our services. Our Head of Social Media, Negin, has offered her time to visit St Luke’s headquarters to collaborate and discuss how they can improve their social media presence, in an effort to reach a wider audience on various social media platforms.

St Luke’s is a Cheshire based hospice that provides a wide range of services to those living with terminal or life-limiting illnesses. Founded in 1998, St Luke’s has been working ever since to provide care to local people, beyond the reach of the NHS – with 85% of their care being made possible thanks to public donations and support.

With an expert team of healthcare professionals on hand and a 24-hour helpline to assist them, St Luke’s are able to reach out to those in need – facilitating visiting patients and those that require more care and need to stay at the hospice.

Whilst we are providing our services to assist this wonderful charity, we encourage those who are able to donate anything they can to assist St Luke’s in caring for our community’s most needing individuals. To donate, use the following link – https://www.slhospice.co.uk/donate/.

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 11

For Day 11 of our Reverse Christmas Advent Calendar, we created a bundle of cat food and toys for the Warrington branch of Cats Protection.

More than 100 animals are abandoned every day in the UK many of these being cats for a multitude of reasons. This number becomes even higher after Christmas and many families buy cats, dogs or other pets for their children for Christmas only for them to be abandoned when the appeal wears off, a family member finds they are allergic or for many other reasons.

Cats Protection started in 1927 and has grown to become the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. They help around 200,000 cats and kittens each year through their network of 250 volunteer-run branches and 36 centres. Their strategy acknowledges that by educating and informing adults and children of cat welfare, they can achieve their vision of a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. They provide an array of cat information via publications, the help and advice section on their site and via a National Information Line, they also promote the benefits of neutering to prevent unwanted cat litters, which then become the abandoned cats of tomorrow.

Animal welfare is close to the heart of our lead frontend developer Liam and we decided to donate some supplies to the Warrington Branch as this is where he adopted his old kitty cat from. Liam decided to adopt an older cat instead of a younger one because older cats always struggle to get adopted and he wanted the kitty to live out its remaining years in a loving home instead of waiting and possibly not getting adopted. Liam has now had his adopted cat for almost 3 years and can confirm he has done everything he can to make sure his cat is loved and cared for in its final years.

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 10

Our Reverse Christmas Calendar isn’t over yet, we still have some ideas for giving back this Christmas!

For day 10 we are giving back to Papyrus, a young person’s suicide prevention charity that we have worked with in the past and continue to work with.

Papyrus provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, anyone worried about a young person can contact them through their helpline, HOPELINEUK.

For Christmas, they are running a ‘Secret Santa Takeover’ which allows you to donate to the charity by texting MYSECTRETSANTA and the amount you wish to donate to 70085. This is the type of gift that can last a lifetime.

Here at Mosaic Digital Media, we have agreed to scrap the standard office Secret Santa this year and instead all donate to Papyrus to help them do what they do best… Save lives.

Back in 2018, we built Papyrus a new website and we have continued to work with them since, helping raise awareness for HOPEWALKUK and taking part in The 10k English Half Marathon in effort to raise money for their cause.

If you want to help Papyrus in saving lives around the UK then be sure to text MYSECTRETSANTA and the amount you wish to donate to 70085.

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 9

Well, how time flies! We’re on Day 9 of our 12 good deeds of Christmas, #ReverseAdventCalendar and today is an extra-special one…

As children, the best day in the world bar none is Christmas Day – but it’s not so fun if you’re in the hospital and feeling ill. That’s why today we’ve decided to each donate a toy or gift to the Warrington and Halton Hospitals’ Charity Christmas Toy Appeal.

Christmas is a magical time but for families and patients alike, that magic can disappear when your child or loved one is in a hospital bed over the festive period.

So for us at Mosaic Digital Media, the chance to donate to this wonderful appeal, so close to home, was an easy decision to make.

We have all each bought a gift to the value of £5 (and in some cases over because we’re kind souls!) and our Head of Operations, Stacey will be embodying Mrs Claus for a day, as she drops off the presents at Warrington Hospital’s Charity Office.

For those of you that may not be able to get to the hospital itself, you can also donate your gifts at the following locations:

Halton Hospital (WA7 2DA)

Holdcroft Honda (WA5 1GG)

G Force Communications (WA7 1WA)

Centric Lighting (WA5 0JU)

Notcutts Rivendale (WA8 3UL)

Humbugs (WA12 9SL)

If you are unable to drop off a physical gift, you can make a donation directly to WHH Charity here.

Thanks for reading and Mo, Mo, Mo Merry Christmas!

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 8

So for the 8th day of Mosaic’s Reverse Christmas Calendar, we are giving a huge shout out to St Rocco’s Hospice and their ‘Christmas Tree Collection’ Campaign.

The aim of this campaign is to save the trees that usually get binned at Christmas, This collection gives you an easy way to recycle your real Christmas tree and help raise money for vital funds and patient care!

It’s so simple too! All you have to do is book your tree in through their website (https://www.stroccos.org.uk/) or you can call them on 01925 579 211. In return, some of the St Rocco’s volunteers will arrange for your tree to be collected and recycling if you are in a Warrington postcode.

Be sure not to forget because they are only taking the Christmas trees on Saturday 11th January 2020.

Please book your Christmas tree in before Wednesday 8th  January 202 at 9 am because this is when booking will close. Register your interest here: https://www.stroccos.org.uk/

St Rocco’s Hospice is also the chosen charity partner for real5 Networking Warrington. This is an innovative business networking group specifically designed for selected business owners and entrepreneurs in the Warrington area.

As proud members of real5 Warrington, we thought it was only right that we give back to the community that welcomes us!

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 7

As part of the Mosaic Reverse Christmas Calendar, we are going to be giving back to the Warrington Wolves Foundation.

The Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation is the charitable wing of Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club. It was created to help provide life-changing support and opportunities through sport, education and the arts which can enrich, inspire and celebrate the Warrington community.

Learn more about the Charitable Foundation take a look here: https://wolvesfoundation.com/

To help the foundation we are going to be giving social media shout-outs for the various fundraising events they have coming up on the horizon.

One of the main events they are going to be running is called ‘Offload at Christmas’. This offers people with the chance to talk about their mental health problems and the foundation can offer a kind face to speak too as well as offer advice to help you through it.

At Offload, they have adopted the motto that ‘it’s OK to not be OK’

The men who take the brave and courageous 2 steps through the front door at the Halliwell Jones Stadium every Tuesday evening are the walking, talking, living examples that it helps.

If you are struggling with mental health issues and what to learn more about ‘Offload’ then either get in touch here or take a look at the event page for more information on how to attend.

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 6

Today we decided to support a charity that matters not only locally but also across the country – our local food bank.

Warrington Foodbank (https://warrington.foodbank.org.uk/) was founded, like many other food banks, by local churches and community groups coming together to stop needless hunger in their towns and communities.

As it’s (nearly) Christmas, we at Mosaic Digital Media decided to donate one ‘Christmas Dinner’ related item each to make the centrepiece meal of the festive season for those who access the foodbank…

However, as many items at the foodbank have to be non-perishable, we allowed our team to donate items from the foodbank’s ‘most needed list’ – if you can spare an item or two, you can view the full list here: https://warrington.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

There are many different ways that you can help your local food bank, such as volunteering, monetary donations or if you own or run a business you can become partners. No matter how big or small a contribution you make, it all goes towards making a difference and ensuring the long-term goal that no one in your community goes hungry.

Three meals a day is something that we are all guilty of taking for granted. For some members of our community, this is something really difficult to do. If you can help, do so here: https://warrington.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/

Head back to our site tomorrow to find out what day five of our 12 good deeds of Christmas, Reverse Advent Calendar has in store… we’ll give you a clue. It’s a really NICE thing to do for your team!

And don’t forget… MO MO MO MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 5

This morning when we all walked into the office and took a seat at our stations we were all greeted with a less than common sight – messages of appreciation written onto little sticky notes and placed onto our monitors.

A small act of kindness such as this can go a long way. It’s far too uncommon to receive a little bit of gratitude and thanks in this day and age; with people disregarding your hard work as just that, work.

Small acts of kindness such as these can and really do boost a person’s confidence making them a more outgoing and hardworking individual, if they know they are doing well and know you appreciate what they do, they will strive to continue working hard to prove to you that your kind messages/acts mean something to them.

Not only is an act of kindness a confidence booster it also improves the wellbeing of that person. Nobody knows what anybody else is truly going through and many of us are reluctant to share all the details of our personal lives. This can create a delicate balance that one harsh word or inconvenience can push somebody over the edge. A kind act can be uplifting and bring somebody back from that edge making them more joyous and willing to work harder.

That’s why today we decided to commit some acts of kindness and give each other motivational messages and positive reinforcement to help us get through an otherwise stressful day. We suspect this may lead to more courtesy brews throughout the office with our newly lifted spirits and the smiles upon our faces.

It doesn’t all have to be about donating money and giving your belongings away to make a change, just being a good person and letting somebody else know how well they’re doing can be enough. That being said we hope you, whoever you may be, are having a great day and continue to do so throughout the year.

Reverse Advent Calendar Day 2

For Day 2 of our #ReverseAdventCalendar, our Head of #SEO Conor Clarke and Junior #SocialMedia Executive Thomas Arthur Dorsett ventured out of the office to hand out mince pies to the offices in Tannery Court as we thought everyone could do with festive cheer this time of the year!

Thomas and Conor quickly discovered that not many people are a huge fan of mince pies however luckily there were a few businesses who appreciated the gift!

Thank you to Alzheimer’s Society for the welcome and the photo op as well! (check social for photo).

If you are a charity who would like to get involved with Mosaic Digital Media or simply are looking for some digital support then make sure to call us today we’d be happy to help!

Mosaic Team try out Hypnotherapy in the office

The Mosaic team took an hour of their day to take part in a much anticipated guided Hypnotherapy session in the office last week. We learn more about what hypnosis is and how it can be helpful in the workplace.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a complimentary therapy in which guided hypnosis is used to create a state of focus and increased awareness during which positive suggestions and imagery are used to help individuals deal with a variety of concerns and issues.

Who led the session?

The Hypnotherapy session was led by the professional Hypnotherapist David Webb who’s based in Northwich, Cheshire.

He told us how the hypnotherapy treatment is commonly used to boost Confidence, reduce Anxiety and Stress issues which in a workplace like ours are almost a given! He gave us a generalised session around improving confidence and lowering stress.

What we thought

We asked some of our staff what they thought about the session and how they feel they benefited from it:

Negin:

“Hypnotherapy is different to what I expected (it was more therapy based than hypnotic) I think it was really beneficial to take a bit of time out of the day to recharge ready for the day ahead!”

Nathan:

“Although slightly despondent about not being turned into a chicken, Nathan endorses Dave Webb in his work and finds the art of hypnotherapy beneficial to the office environment”

Liam:

“I feel more relaxed and liberated to talk my mind apparently”

The Verdict

I think it’s safe to say that it was a very beneficial experience for most of the mosaic staff and we are looking into introducing this type of activity more frequently in the office to help with productivity.

To learn more about the hypnotherapist that led the session take a look at his website here: https://midcch.co.uk/

If you’re reading this and want to improve your marketing whether it be on social media, over email or through your website please let us know and we’ll see how we can help.

Mo, Mo, Mo, Merry Christmas from Mosaic

The season to be jolly is very nearly upon us and we’re already feeling festive in the Mosaic office – but what do we have planned for Christmas? Well, we’ll tell you!

This Christmas, we’re going to give back for 12 days to charities and causes we care about. We’ve got everything covered from trees to mince pies, cards to Christmas dinner. We’re even donating blood!

So what are we going to be doing?

For our long-term friends Papyrus, (whose website we built way back in 2017, how time flies!), we’ll be taking part in their ‘MYSECRETSANTA’ text campaign. Closer to home, we’re planning on bringing Christmas cheer to all by handing out mince pies to our neighbours in Tannery Court.

Our team aren’t going to be naughty but nice by leaving positive messages for each other in and around the office.

Every Christmas too many trees are sacrificed for our pleasure so we’d like to do something a little bit differently this year. For all 12 of our team members, we are going to donate a tree to teamtrees.org, helping our planet in the process.

For the dinner instead of having one ourselves, we’re donating one item each to Warrington Foodbank to create the perfect Christmas dinner for those who otherwise might not get one!

Two members of our team, James and Conor, parts of our Web Design and SEO teams respectively, have decided to become blood donors and in the process help the NHS and their local blood banks with one of the most precious commodities, for those who need it most.

We’re also going to be sending Christmas cards to our clients but not just any old card, cards designed by our new friends at St. Luke’s Hospice! You may have seen earlier this month that we took part in the charity’s ‘Bring a Pound to Work Day’ which was a great success with a team photo to boot…

Finally, for our friends over the road at Warrington Wolves Foundation, we’re going to shout about the great work the Foundation does when it comes to male mental health and its ‘Offload’ programme, tackling the stigmas surrounding men and their mental wellbeing, not just in the game of rugby league but beyond to…

The causes that we’ve spoken about above are just a handful of the charities and good deeds that we are going to be helping this Christmas. To keep updated on our actions keep an eye on our social channels!

And Merry Christmas from all of us at Mosaic Digital Media!
